Senior Java/J2EE Application Engineer (Mobile)
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: Contract to Hire
Job Description:
Client is currently seeking a Senior Java Application Engineer for a contract to permanent position located in Atlanta, GA (Midtown). The successful candidate must have strong technical team lead and application design experience and must demonstrate an affinity for seeking, evaluating and coming up to speed on new technologies. He/She must be able to effectively communicate with other team members, managers and customers both verbally and in writing, and must be skilled at mentoring less experienced team members.
This position provides the opportunity to be involved in new web and mobile application development as well as small to medium enhancements to existing systems to support corporate operations. The candidate will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, and will independently and collaboratively write and review software requirements, design specifications and code. Other responsibilities include 24x7 support for mission-critical applications and problem trouble-shooting and resolution.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of most recent experience in a professional environment designing and developing web and/or mobile applications
- Proficiency in:
o Java and J2EE (WebLogic 10.x, JBoss)
o HTML5/CSS3
o Mobile application development (Hybrid application model)
o Unix
o SQL
o JavaScript
o XML
o Creating web services (SOAP/RESTful)
o Knowledge of multi-threaded programming and message based processing systems
Additional Skills a Plus:
- .NET (C#, asp, VB) web development
- IBM DB2 UDB
- IBM AIX
- MQ Series messaging
- ExtJS, Sencha Touch
Education:
- BS Degree in Computer science, Engineering or related discipline
